Winning first place Pro, Ed Shay, from Creve Coeur, MO, weighed in 8 fish for 18-74 Lbs, winning a $6,000.00 Ranger Cherokee Boat and $198.00. Ed also won both big bass winning over $6,495.00. Ed, fished a black with gold blade buzz bait, fishing in the Pomme and Lindley arm in less then 5 feet of water. Ed, weighed in 5 fish the first day for 10-71 Lbs, on the second day Ed, weighed in 3 fish for 8-03 Lbs enough to hold on to first place. Ed is 38 years old and an environmental engineer and is sponsored by DM Motorsports and Ranger Boats. 2nd place Pro winner Don McFetridge, from St Charles, MO, weighed in 9 fish for 16-67 Lbs winning $990.00. Don, used Bandit black colored crankbaits, fishing up the rivers in shallow water. Don weighed in 5 fish on the first day for 7-83 Lbs and 4 fish on the second day for 8-84 Lbs, ending up with his 16-67 Lbs. Don is 44 and is a laborer and is sponsored by BWSTA and Tri-State Trolling Motor Repair. 3rd place Pro winner John Behiter Jr, from Wentzville, MO, weighed in a limit of 5 fish each day for 10 fish weighing 16-17 Lbs winning $495.00. John, fished brown colored Eakins jigs, fishing bluffs on the main lake in about 4-20 feet of water. John is 28 and is a machine operator and is sponsored by DM Motorsports, Ranger, Mercury and BWS. John was in third place after the first day with 5 fish for 9-48 Lbs and caught 5 more fish on day two for 6-69 Lbs ending up with 16-17 Lbs. 1st place AM winner Rick Harold, from Cedar Rapids, IA, won a 9.9 hp Mercury Motor, from Nameoki Village Marine worth $1,500.00. Rick used spinnerbaits and crankbaits, fishing around the dam area, weighed in 7 fish for 10-28 Lbs. Rick is 54 and is a laborer. 2nd place AM winner R D Benion, from Cedar Rapids, IA, weighed in 6 fish for 10-14 Lbs winning $468.00. R D used Zoom pearl colored flukes, in about 8 feet of water or less. R D is 42 and is a machine operator. 3rd place AM winner Chad Hamm, from St Peters, MO, weighed in 6 fish 9-70 Lbs winning $195.00. Chad used jigs and crankbaits, fishing in the rivers in about 2-5 feet of water. Chad is 32 and is a machine operator. Over $11,000.00 in cash and prizes was given away during this years BWSTA Pro-Am Classic. 31 fishermen weighed in 152 fish for 252-86 Lbs with 9-5 fish limits weighed in. Lake level 832, water temp 55-60, weather cloudy and rainy around mid 40’s.
