This was our first tournament on Egypt Lake and Tom Sample, owner of Pyramid Acres, did a great job of helping us and has great facilities on the lake for bass tournaments. 1st place Bill Taylor and Fred Kisak, from Energy and Carterville, IL, weighed in the winning weight with a limit of 5 fish for 18-89 Lbs, winning $1,040.00. They used top water green colored Scum Frogs, fishing weeds around the mid lake area in about 2-3 feet of water. Bill is 50 and is an RN. Fred is 56 and is a teacher. 2nd place winners Danny Clark and Mark Jelley, from Mulkeytown, IL, weighed in a limit of 5 fish for 18-23 Lbs winning $520.00 and $130.00 for Mark’s second big bass of the tournament with a 5-53 Lb bass, winning them $650.00. They fished Boy Howdy top water blue/chrome colored, fishing mid lake in about 5 feet of water. Danny is 45 and is a coalminer. Mark is 37 and is a lineman. 3rd place winners Ron Modglin and Fred Schuttek, from Cambria and Herrin, IL, weighed in 4 fish for 14-11 Lbs winning $260.00 and $260.00 for Ron’s, 6-06 Lb big bass winning them $520.00. They fished white Scum Frogs, fishing in the grass in about 2-3 feet of water around mid lake. Ron is 44 and is a construction inspector.
