This was our first tournament at LaCrosse, WI, and the fishery impressed us with the quality and amount of fish brought to the scales. Winning 1st place brothers Dan and Jim Harbaugh, from La Crescent, MN and West Salem, WI, weighed in a limit of 5 fish for 15-46 Lbs winning $1,225.00. They found their fish hitting Rite-Bite black/blue colored tubes, jigs and spinnerbaits, fishing in flooded timber in pool 9, in about 5 feet of water. Dan is 49 and is a semi-driver. Jim is 47 and is a fisherman. 2nd place winners Jim O’Donnell and Mark Leasure, from Ottawa and Crest Hill, IL, used gold colored Rapala, crankbaits, fishing wood and rocks in about 4-6 feet of water around Black River. They weighed in a limit of 5 fish for 15-09 Lbs, winning $1,380.00, including Mark’s big bass worth $350.00 and $400.00 in sidepot money. Jim is 46 and is a radiation tech. Mark is 44 and is a mail carrier. 3rd place winners Bruce Behrens and Scott McLaury, from Oelwein and Hazelton, IA, weighed in a limit of 5 fish for 14-96 Lbs winning $385.00.
